Privacy and security
Local by design
Readings, notes, local-profile details, imports, model results, and reports are processed on this device. The public host serves the application files; it does not receive a copy of the health records entered in the app.
Encrypted local records
Saved records are encrypted before they are written to this browser. The password unlocks them locally and is not stored or sent to Legible. The decrypted key is kept only in memory while the local profile is open. Closing or locking the app removes that working key from the app.
There is no password reset. A forgotten password cannot be recovered by the publisher. Clearing browser data, losing the device, or browser storage removal can also erase local records. Keep a tested, password-protected .legiblebp backup in a location you control.
Use without saving
A memory-only private session can be used without creating a saved local profile. Its records disappear when that session ends or the page closes. Export anything you want to keep before leaving.
What encryption cannot do
Encryption at rest helps protect stored browser bytes. It does not protect information already visible on an unlocked screen, copied to the clipboard, placed in an export, or exposed by a compromised device, browser, extension, or malicious future same-origin software update. Local-only design reduces data collection; it does not eliminate privacy, security, medical, or legal risk.
Network and third parties
The app contains no advertising, behavioral analytics, remote statistical service, or generative-AI service. The host may receive ordinary requests for public app files, including an IP address, time, browser information, and requested asset path. Personal health values are not placed in those paths. External cuff-validation and payment links open only after a deliberate click.
Security limitations
Local encryption does not make a compromised device or browser safe, and it does not protect readable files after the user exports them. Legible Blood Pressure is not represented as a medical device or as a substitute for professional care.
